Happy 20th Anniversary! Congratulations, Harvesters! You are the heart and soul of the CH mission to feed the hungry. Thank you for all of your continued support and dedication to Collier Harvest. Last year with your help we collected over 900,000 lbs. of food as we continue to help relieve the agencies in Collier County that assist the needy. The last few months of 2011 were busy ones for Collier Harvest. Hair salons, high schools, fitness centers, various clubs and restaurants all helped us in our fight against hunger by conducting canned food drives. We have estimated that we collected approximately 50,000 lbs. of food from those additional sources! All we did was ask for help and the outpouring of help was wonderful. If you know of any clubs, churches, restaurants or other groups that may be interested in a food drive please let us know. All of our hard work makes such a difference. On February 8, 2012, we gathered to celebrate our efforts. Northern Trust once again hosted this evening of camaraderie. What a great chance to celebrate with fellow volunteers and receive recognition for your wonderful efforts. Visit California Pizza Kitchen on February 17th and they will donate 20% of total sales for that day. Vouchers will be handed out at our volunteer reception or you may print it out from the website We need a donated storage space to warehouse the proceeds from this year’s Postal Worker Food Drive coming up in May. And, we are always looking for volunteers to help us sort and distribute all the food we receive. Last year we collected over 266,000 lbs. of food on that one day! The agencies that benefited from that through the long hot summer months were so grateful. It filled a lot of empty bellies. If you would like to be take part in this event, give us a call. We are looking forward to seeing you all on May 12th for another successful event. We are always ready and willing to assist your church, clubs, neighborhood or social group who would be willing to have a canned food drive.
